Albuterol

Albuterol is a prescription-only bronchodilator used to help with breathing problems. It prevents bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease as well as exercise-induced bronchospasm and asthma. It is also used to prevent and treat wheezing as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ProAir HFA, ProAir Rep click, Proventil HFA and Ventolin HFA are some of the common brand names for albuterol. Albuterol dosage can be taken in tablets, inhalers or in a liquid solution form per the doctor’s prescription. Although people who have breathing problems are the only ones meant to use albuterol, many use it recreationally. An albuterol inhaler gives a temporary relaxation high. According to a study teens who use another person’s asthma inhaler for a quick high or relaxation are more prone to smoke marijuana and abuse alcohol. Since albuterol is a stimulant, some people may use it for weight loss or to increase athletic performance, but this is highly dangerous and can lead to bigger problems. Some of the common side effects of Albuterol abuse include tremors in limbs, tachycardia and racing heartbeat.
